Alex’s Wine of The Month

Summertime calls for chilled wines, but please try not to limit yourself to strictly whites for a cool beverage. I chose a light red for common white folks to enjoy. Maison-Louis Jadot Beaujolais Villages is grown in the Beaujolais (boo-jah-lay) region in Rhone, France. This light red produced a delightful, bright red wine that is surprisingly refreshing when served slightly chilled. The Gamay grape is capable of producing wonderful, cherry and raspberry flavored wines with earthy hints of violets and spice. Slight flowery notes and spice linger on the finish. I'd pair this light red with white fish, or grilled chicken and vegetables.
